Dr. William P. Welty
Founder and Trustee
|
When operational, the SWANsat Foundation
Group will serve as a consortium of four non-profit foundations that will be funded
through the Themelios Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust, majority owner of the privately held SWANsat
Holdings, licensee of
the SWANsat System. Neither the Themelios CRAT, the Themelios Institute, nor the
SWANsat Foundation Group
seeks grants or solicits grant proposals.
When
organizational activities are complete, the Themelios Institute will be a
non-profit tax-exmpt corporation. Here's a description of some of the activities that we intend to sponsor
after SWANsat Holdings returns a profit: |
|
 |
FOCUS AREAS
|
|
 |
The primary focus area of the SWANsat Foundation Group is to sponsor
delivery of very low-cost Information and Communication Technologies
(ICT) to least developed countries (LDC's) and developing countries
(DC's) by issuing grants in support of 99% of the cost for SWANsat
accounts to citizens of DC's and LDC's and to those who minister to
the underserved in these nations. Grants will be paid in the name of
the specific DC and LDC so that only EUR€1.00 of the EUR€100.00 per month cost of a SWANsat subscription is borne by the customer. |
|
 |
We intend to sponsor
a terraforming project to restore and repair the fragile ecosystem of
the Republic of Nauru (SWANsat's Host Country) that was damaged by
more than a century of strip mining. |
|
 |
We intend to sponsor Noble Purpose, a ministry of care for foster
children in the People's Republic of China. |
|
 |
We intend to sponsor graduate and
post-graduate educational institutions that equip people in LDC's and
DC's to participate in national and international business, politics,
and other arenas
via interactive distance learning, including distance learning as an alternative to
expensive educational institutions.
|
|
 |
We intend to work with
The Themelios Institute, primary member/owner of SWANsat
Holdings, in its quest to help create effective
solutions to international affairs in the Middle East, especially concerning Israel
and its disputes with its Muslim neighbors. |
|
 |
Utilizing discretionary funds for other projects and for general
benevolence as specific needs arise on a case-by-case basis. |
